Limassol is filled with music, parties and fun during it's Carnival time taking place 5 weeks before Easter for 10 days in a row. The Wine Festival is a 50 year old popular event taking place in the Municipal gardens since 1961. In Kourion ancient theater just at the outskirts of the city, a number of cultural events take place mostly during the summer season: Ancient Greek Drama, the Shakespeare Festival and other Music and Dance performances.
