Tourism arrivals slipped in November after a strong showing in the summer months.
According to the Passengers’ Survey, arrivals of tourists fell by 9.5% over the year earlier in November to 84,020 compared with 92,878 in November 2011.
The main reason was a 15.5% drop in arrivals from the UK—still by far the largest market—to 29,392 in November 2012 from 34,796 in November 2011.
Arrivals from Russia, now the second largest market, were up by a strong 66.3% to 10,806, but arrivals from Germany, the third largest market were down 33.9% at 11,188.
Arrivals from Greece, the fourth largest market, were up 7.7% to 10,301.
In January - November 2012 arrivals rose by 3.6% over the year earlier to 2,410,136, compared with 2,326,889 in the corresponding period of 2011.
Revenue in the first nine months of the year rose by 4.6% to EUR 2.1 bln
