Limassol Carnival program is out and the fun starts this month.
50 days before Greek Orthodox Easter, on the Thursday called Tsiknopempti, is the beginning of Carnival . This year’s celebrations, start on the 7th of March and will last until the 17th of March.Limassol Municipality with other partners and sponsors, is organising many events other than the Grand Parades and the parties.Exhibitions and workshops relating to the carnival are taking place in many Cultural centers. On this coming Thursday, at midday, the Limassol Serenaders cantadori, will be singing in the old town and the Grande entrance of the Queen of Carnival is to happen at 19.00. With all city’s authorities to officially inaugurate the 2013 carnival, the Queen of Carnival is to make a big entrance in music and dancing ,for a fortnight of partying and fun.The children’s parade will take place on the Sunday 10th on the Seafront Boulevard of Limassol, starting from the Old port until the Municipal gardens.The next Sunday and the last day of Carnival, the Grand Parade will take place on Makarios Avenue as usual.Every day there are many festivities organised, music concerts, open air partying with a lot of dancing and many creative, fancy dress outfits. Limassol hosts one of the largest and most vibrant carnival parties in Cyprus.
