The Community Board of Ayios Tychonas organizes the annual Amathusia Festival and it is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The event takes place among the ruins of the Agora, of the lower city-kingdom of Amathus. It was once among the strongest and most powerful kingdoms of antiquity and had a great Sanctuary of Aphrodite.
The site been spectacular and next to the sea, the program is rich in performances. It is variable every year as to which performers will be invited. There are Greek singers and bands, contemporary dance groups, music shows, top string quartets, Cyprus folk dance groups and musicians.
